The maths a customer asks for, before the bill
- 01
Answer before you bill
What's it worth, what's my old gold worth, how much for one tola: answer in the unit the customer asks in, without opening a bill.
- 02
One karat rule
Every karat follows its hallmark: 22K is 91.6% of the 24K rate, 18K 75%, 14K 58.5%, 9K 37.5%. A tola is 10 g, and GST is split the way the bill shows it.
- 03
Every line on show
Rate, metal, making and GST each on their own line, so the customer can follow how the price was reached.

Questions about Rate Desk
Yes. Anyone can use these calculators, with no sign-up and no account. Rate Desk also comes inside CaratOS, billing and stock software for jewellery shops.
The calculators start from an example rate of ₹1,00,000 per 10 g for 24K, a round number that isn't today's rate. Type today's rate to get a real estimate. The market reference starts from the market's own 99.5% gold and silver rates, with the time they were published. 24K is that 99.5% rate × 999 ÷ 995 and 22K to 9K are 24K × their hallmark number (22K × 91.6%): figures marked “worked out” come from these sums and aren't traded prices.
Not exactly. It's an estimate. Each jeweller sets their own daily rate, making charge and old gold rate, and a bill may add stones or other charges. Use it to understand a quote, then ask the shop.
24K × 91.6%, because 916 is the hallmark for 22K. Every karat works the same way: 18K is 24K × 75%, 14K × 58.5% and 9K × 37.5%. Each is rounded to the rupee.
What you type stays in this browser. There's nothing to sign up for, and we don't ask for your name or number.
Yes: pick “My own rate” and type yours. In CaratOS, your rates are set once each morning and every calculator and bill uses them.
