How the bill is worked out
Every line, the way a jewellery GST bill shows it
Metal value is net weight × your rate per gram. Making is a % of the metal value, a rate per gram of net weight, or a flat amount. Stones and the hallmarking charge go on their own lines, so metal is charged only on metal weight. Each amount is rounded to the rupee.
GST is 3% of the taxable value: metal, making, stones and hallmarking together. For a sale in your state it shows as CGST 1.5% and SGST 1.5%; for a customer in another state, IGST 3%. CBIC’s FAQ for gems and jewellery says 3% applies to the whole value, whether the making charge is shown separately or not.
Old gold goes below the bill total: weight × tested purity gives the fine gold, × your old-gold rate gives its value, and that comes off what the customer pays. GST stays on the full value of the new pieces. Agree the treatment with your CA. More in the old gold exchange billing guide.
What a bill must show, line by line, is in the jewellery bill format guide: HSN 7113, purity in karat and fineness, net weight, the hallmarking charge, the HUID and the BIS line for hallmarked jewellery. This bill maker puts all of them on the page.
For a shop that bills every day
This bill maker forgets. CaratOS keeps every bill.
This page is a free tool for one bill at a time. It doesn’t number your bills, keep a copy, or know your stock.
With a CaratOS plan, every bill is saved with invoice numbers that run without gaps, the piece comes off your stock when you scan its tag, and you share the bill on WhatsApp or email. Your CA gets GSTR-1 and GSTR-3B figures with an Excel and Tally export.
Starter is ₹1,199 a month and Growth ₹3,999 a month, GST included. You can request a 15-day Starter trial, with no card; it starts when CaratOS approves it. See pricing and Billing and old gold.
Questions about the bill maker
Yes. There is no sign-up and no account. Type your bill, then print it or save it as a PDF from your browser.
No. Nothing you type leaves this browser tab: the page sends nothing to CaratOS or anyone else, and nothing is kept after you close it. Save a PDF if you need a copy.
Press “Print or save as PDF”. In the print window, pick “Save as PDF” (or “Microsoft Print to PDF”) as the printer. Only the bill is printed, not the form.
3%. On a piece you sell, CBIC’s gems and jewellery FAQ says GST is 3% of the total value, whether making is shown separately or not. 5% is for job work, when a registered karigar bills only for work on a jeweller’s gold.
Because no shop GSTIN was entered. Only a GST-registered shop can issue a tax invoice and charge GST. Type your GSTIN and the heading changes.
It makes one bill at a time and keeps nothing, so it doesn’t number your bills or track stock. For a shop that bills every day, see CaratOS pricing.
No. It works out the lines the way the bill format guide describes. GST and hallmarking rules change, so confirm anything that affects your shop with your CA.
