The two in one look
Online Munim is jewellery software from Omunim Software Pvt. Ltd. Its website lists billing, stock, girvi, RFID, karigar work, approvals, gold schemes, an Android app and an online store. CaratOS is jewellery billing and shop management software made by Izara Gems Pvt. Ltd. in Delhi, for retail jewellers who want billing, old gold, stock, GST and dues in one place, in English or Hindi.
Everything about Online Munim below comes from omunim.com, checked on 1 November 2026. Where their website doesn’t say something, we write “not published on their website” rather than guess. Software changes, so ask them in a demo before you rely on any line here.

Where Online Munim does more
It is only fair to start here, because some shops should stop reading and call Online Munim.
Girvi. If you lend against gold, this is the big one. Their gold loan page describes simple and compound interest, customer photos and KYC, notices for due EMIs and defaults, auctions, locker allocation and printing Form 7 and Form 8. CaratOS has no girvi at all.
RFID. Their home page lists RFID tags to speed up stock tally and RFID gates against theft. CaratOS has no RFID; stock checks use barcode or QR tags.
Offline and desktop. Their billing page talks of “both online and offline software”, and their FAQ describes registering, downloading and activating it. If your internet is patchy, that matters. CaratOS needs a connection today; CaratOS Desktop is coming soon, with no date yet.
An Android app and an online store. Online Munim links a Jewellers App on Google Play and offers e-commerce for selling your collection online. CaratOS has no Android app; you use it in the phone’s browser.
More languages and a wider spread. Their website menu offers six languages, against English and Hindi in CaratOS. They also list staff attendance and payroll, supplier purchase orders and weighing scale integration, and they say they have onboarded “10,000+” customers.
Where CaratOS does more
Online Munim also lists old-for-new exchange on the invoice, and may cover more of what follows; ask in a demo.
A price you can read before you call. CaratOS Starter is ₹1,199 a month and Growth is ₹3,999 a month, or ₹42,999 a year, with GST included. Everything each plan has is written on pricing. Online Munim doesn’t publish a price on its website, so you only learn the cost after talking to sales.
A trial without a card. Request 15 days of Starter. The trial starts when CaratOS approves it, and no card is needed.
Nothing to install. CaratOS runs in the browser at app.caratos.co.in, on a laptop, tablet or phone. There are no setup files and no activation step.
Old gold on the same bill. Weigh the customer’s old gold, enter the tested purity, and CaratOS works out the fine weight, values it at your old-gold rate and takes it off what they pay, on every plan. See billing and old gold.
Your CA and Tally. Your CA gets a free read-only login. Reports give GSTR-1 and GSTR-3B figures with the HSN summary. Tally export is on Starter, and Growth adds live sync.
Hindi for each person. Your salesperson can bill in Hindi while you read reports in English, and each person can switch any time.
WhatsApp from the counter. Share the GST bill on WhatsApp, send one-tap payment reminders, and on Growth get your day’s figures on WhatsApp every night.
What CaratOS doesn’t do today
So you don’t find out after paying: CaratOS has no girvi, no RFID, no Android app and no manufacturing bill of materials. It works online only until CaratOS Desktop arrives. Production stages, karigar pay and wastage, approval memo, savings schemes, discount limits and e-invoices are on Growth, not Starter. Starter has one login plus your CA; Growth has five.
Price: what we could and couldn’t check
For CaratOS the sums are simple. Starter at ₹1,199 a month is ₹14,388 over 12 months. Growth at ₹3,999 a month is ₹47,988 over 12 months, or ₹42,999 if you pay for the year. GST is already inside these figures.
For Online Munim we couldn’t find a price or a price page on omunim.com. Their FAQ says the package carries “a small maintenance fee, which varies depending on the features included in the package you choose”, and their app page mentions an annual maintenance charge. Ask them for the full first-year cost and the yearly cost after that, both with GST, for the exact features you need.
Compare like with like. If you need girvi or RFID, CaratOS can’t give you those at any price, so the cheaper line isn’t the useful one. If you don’t, compare the cost for billing, stock, old gold and GST alone. Our price guide explains what jewellery software usually costs in India.
Who should pick which
- Pick Online Munim if girvi is part of your business, or you want RFID tags and gates for stock.
- Pick Online Munim if your shop’s internet is unreliable and you need billing that runs offline today.
- Pick Online Munim if you want an Android app for staff, an online store, or menus in Marathi, Tamil, Telugu or Gujarati.
- Pick CaratOS if you sell from one counter or a few, and want billing, old gold, stock with HUID, GST and dues in one browser app.
- Pick CaratOS if you want to know the full price before a sales call, and try it for 15 days without a card.
- Pick CaratOS if your CA works in Tally and you want export on Starter or live sync on Growth.
- Pick CaratOS if your staff are more comfortable in Hindi and you read reports in English.
- Use both, or neither, honestly. Some shops keep girvi in one tool and the counter in another. If you need manufacturing with a bill of materials, ask both vendors directly; CaratOS doesn’t do it.
Moving from Online Munim to CaratOS
If you decide to move, this is how it usually goes. CaratOS helps you move on every plan.
Steps to move across
- Take your data out first. Ask Online Munim for an Excel export of your stock, customers and dues. Their website doesn’t say what formats it exports, so ask in writing.
- Keep girvi where it is. CaratOS has no girvi, so leave your gold loan records in Online Munim or your existing register. Don’t close that account until every loan is settled.
- Send us the files. Send us the export or your Excel sheets, and we bring your stock, customers and dues into CaratOS. You check every row before anything is added.
- Set your rates and print tags. Enter the day’s gold and silver rates, then print barcode or QR tags for your pieces, with the HUID carried on each one.
- Run both for a week. Make each bill in CaratOS and check it against your old software, until you trust the totals.
- Give your CA a login. Your CA checks the GST figures and the Tally export before the next return.
Questions to ask both in a demo
- Make a bill for a 22K chain with making charges and an old gold bangle in exchange, and show me every line.
- Does the HUID print on the bill? Hallmarked gold jewellery must carry a 6-character HUID under BIS rules.
- Is GST 3% on the bill, split as CGST and SGST in my state and IGST for a customer from another state?
- What is the full price for the first year and each year after, with GST?
- Does it work without internet, and what happens to bills when the connection comes back?
- Can my CA log in, and how do the figures reach Tally?
- How do I take all my data out in Excel if I leave?
